The Bible, the Word of God why did God give it to us and what is it’s message.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God        John 1:1

Jesus is the Word of God. The Greek word that is used here is “LOGOS,” and it denotes “the expression of thought–not the mere name of an object” (Vine’s Expository Dictionary). Jesus totally expressed the thoughts of the Father and was manifest in a physical form so all the world could read them. Hebrews 1:3 says Jesus was “the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person.”
It is also appropriate for Jesus to be called the Word of God because the physical body of Jesus was produced by God’s spoken word, not the usual means of a physical relationship between man and woman.

Father God had already made ready His Son Jesus to be made a sacrifice for the sin of men, so that they could come back into fellowship with Him. When we see in the first few chapters in Genesis God fellowshipped with Man in the cool of the afternoon. Why God loves us so much we don’t entirely understand but He was prepared to pay a big price to redeem us back.

The bible is actually God’s words, they are living words and they have the power to transform a person from unbeliever to believer and then changed to be more like Jesus through this divine power. Many people have tried to disprove the bible over the years and they have failed miserably. Some people try to say there are errors but sadly it just shows their ignorance in not understanding the whole text all  together. The bible is a miracle in itself because it was written by many people over the centuries but has a cohesiveness that only one person could bring and that is God (Holy Spirit). The bible only points to Jesus and it represents the need for humans to have a saviour, and this world is like a rotting apple due to sin and the forces of darkness.

“The entrance of your words give light; it gives understanding to the simple.”

Here the psalmist says that from God’s Word we may receive light and understanding. By his alienation from God, man’s mind has been darkened. The Word of God, when it gains entrance, is like a piercing ray of light shining into that darkness. It brings light where once darkness has prevailed and through light there comes understanding.

Light shows us the real nature and character of people and things. We can make correct evaluations. When we are in darkness, we really don’t know what we’re dealing with. We grope, we are aware of certain people or certain things, but we don’t know their true nature and character. It’s the Word of God that brings light, shows us the real factors in our lives that we have to deal with, and how to deal with them.

Romans 1:21 Because when they knew and recognized Him as God, they did not honor and glorify Him as God or give Him thanks. But instead they became futile and [a]godless in their thinking [with vain imaginings, foolish reasoning, and stupid speculations] and their senseless minds were darkened.

Anyone who attributes the existence of the world to chance or to a different creator is already guilty of deliberately rejecting God, because to deny the true God one must set aside common sense. The first step that people take away from any revelation that God has given them is they fail to glorify Him as God.  The word “esteem” means “to place a high value on; respect; prize” and “to judge to be or consider”. Basically, people magnify, esteem, or place a greater value on something other than God.
Jesus disesteemed the suffering of the cross and focused instead on those who would be freed through His offering. So where we are now in this world shows there has been a gradual slip away from God to where God is hardly mentioned anymore, things that were shunned years ago as evil or bad are now accepted. As man’s mind is darkened, he will look to other people for guidance or have false gods, such as they do in various entertainment areas, eg. the eye of Horus.

The second step away from the revelation of God is not being thankful. Thankfulness involves memory, humility, and reflection. Busy people are not usually thankful. They don’t have time for reflection.. Thankfulness is a sign of humility, and cultivating a life of thankfulness will help keep “self or ego”in its proper place. The next steps are just gradual darkening of the mind until there is no knowledge of God and there is no need to know.
