Christian faith centers around historical facts that actually happened in history. There actually was a man named Jesus of Nazareth, who lived, who died, who was resurrected, who appeared to His disciples. It’s not just a philosophy. It’s not just a right way to live following moral principles. It’s not even just theology. But it’s history. That’s what separates Christianity from all other world religions. It says of Jesus, “through His appearing, He has destroyed death.” What a beautiful phrase ”He has destroyed death.”
Knowing Jesus personally in a relationship is what christianity is all about, He is there for us and His death on the cross was not meaningless but it was a way forward for everyone no matter what they have done. But once you make that commitment to God through Jesus and through the Holy Spirit that commitment should be 100% no going back. This entails giving up your former life the way you have been given over to sin ( disobedience to God’s divine laws) and submtting yourself to God and yielding to His purpose for your life. Its a no brainer really as you have the benefit of God helping you and then you have Eternal life in Heaven. This life is a short one and sure you can enjoy yourself with all the pleasures of this world but if you die without a commitment to God you will suffer eternally in the pits of Hell.
Is struggled for a time before i got “saved”, i wsa a Roman Catholic till i was 14 and then i left it . !5 years down the Track and God touched my life and i moved into a pentecostal church which was very strange after coming from the ceremonial Catholic church. After overcoming all the Catholic doctrine in my head i made a full on committment, baptism into Jesus and the Holy Spirit.to get saved from this world which is under the domination of the fallen angels you have to do several things. The reason Jesus died for us was that we couldn’t save ourselves from the rebellion that the first man did against God.So God provided a way that the perfect man who was sinless to die in our place and take i our sins with Death and bring us life with His resurrection ffrom death. So Jesus overcame death for us and only if we do some key things to identify with him and be pardoned from our life of sin.
You must come to God and believe that Jesus is the Son of God ( Jesus is God too).
You must repent or turn from your sins for good ie don’t sin on purpose, but we can still sin as we go about our lives but if you confess your sins and repent (change your mind) those sins are forgiven too.
Ask Jesus to come into your life and make His home in us and live your life obedient to Him and the bible.
Go to a church and talk with Father God .
Tell somebody that you made a commitment to God.
And remember that song ” i have decided to follow Jesus no turning back no turning back”
Get baptised in water.
Give everything to God—your past regrets, your present problems, your future ambitions, your fears, your dreams, your weaknesses, your habits, your hurts, your hang-ups. Allow Jesus to take the driver’s seat and then take your hands off the wheel. Don’t be afraid; nothing that is under His control can ever be out of control. When you are surrendered to Christ, you can handle anything life throws at you.
God is always doing something new. Use spiritual discernment to follow His plan and stop following your own thoughts and feelings. Glance at your circumstance but spend more time focusing on Jesus. He’s the author and finisher of your faith.
