When you die, this life you have lived is finished with and you enter the eternal realm now. Congratulations you are now in Eternity, no time or end. There will be either angels or demons there to greet you as you emerge like a butterfly out of his cocoon, the spirit man leaves the body and is now separated from the body, the body is lifeless and just an empty vessel now. It depends on what you have done or whether you have made a commitment to the Holy one who is Jesus Christ the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords . He is no longer the child born in a manger or the lowly prophet riding a mule into a unfriendly Temple in Jerusalem or the sacrifice of God willingly giving His life for a ungrateful human race to bring the sons of God into His realm through his saving Grace.
Resurrection
There are 2 resurrections, one for the righteous and another for the unrighteous and both are at completely different times. We need to understand the meaning of the word resurrect the Greek word that’s translated means ‘to stand up out of.’ So resurrection is standing up out of death and out of the grave.
We see that man consists of three elements:
Spirit, soul and body. It’s important to understand that it’s the body that dies and it’s the body that will be resurrected. The spirit and the soul never need to be resurrected because they’ve never passed into death. So we are talking about the resurrection of the body. This is very important.
What the Bible shows about what happens to people after they die , this is a matter of universal interest. It doesn’t matter what nationality or what culture you belong to, everybody is interested to know what happens after death. The Bible gives a pretty clear picture of where people go then how it will affect the type of resurrection.
In Luke 16:22-26… Jesus gives us His picture of what happens. This is set of verses is never called never called a parable because the word ‘parable’ is not used in connection with this.
Luke 16:19.
